As you know, my children are
so important to me, and when I hear of a cause that helps
and supports children, I get behind it. Feed the Children
is one such organization. They provide physical, spiritual,
educational, psychological, economic and medical assistance
as well as other necessary aid to children, families,
and others in need in the United States and internationally.
In 1979 Feed The Children was founded by Larry Jones who
realized the need for such an organization while on a
trip in Haiti. It was there that he witnessed so many
people suffering from needless hunger.
Today his idea has developed into one of the world's largest
private supply organizations dedicated to feeding hungry
people. More than 67 percent of the millions of pounds
of food and supplies they receive each year is distributed
directly in all 50 states. Internationally they provide
clothing, medical assistance and educational opportunities
to underprivileged children in 75 nations around the world.
Through schools, orphanages and church-related feeding
programs, Feed The Children touched the lives of 33,000
children overseas.
One of the key goals of Feed the Children is to help needy
families help themselves to move beyond relief assistance.
Through long-term, self-help development programs funded
by grants and by their Child Sponsorship partners, tens
of thousands of families in foreign lands have increased
their earning potential through new, marketable skills.
Feed the Children truly makes a substantial difference!
