Message from Kathleen on Your Feedback:

This isn't any feedback to any of the information on-line. Just a question to Melanie after watching her on 'Inside the Actors Studio' last evening. She mentioned how she was scared every time she started a movie. Something she doesn't need to experience because she is brilliant! She also talked of her addictions. She did fool everyone. I sat behind Melanie on the airplane from Aspen to Denver when she was on her way to rehab. Little did I know from seeing her in person that she had a problem. Well, I have a different problem. I've been divorced now for 8 months (one of the worst experience of my life) and moved to Aspen in January trying to escape some of the memories. I am finding it difficult to get my life together. I have a wonderful job and business partner, but it is difficult to find people here in Aspen who want friends. I lived in Palm Springs, California for 3 years prior to my move and had the same problem. It seems the older we get, people just don't want any additional friends. I love my new home in Aspen, but wake up scared every morning wondering if I'm going to let myself fail because I know so few people here. I grew up in the mid-west and keep in touch with old high school friends and neighbors that I've known for over 30 years. Each time I return to visit family and friends, I meet new friends. Is it just the area of the country where people are so into themselves? I was wondering how Melanie overcomes her fears when she's scared so she doesn't give up and how someone who is in the public eye, makes friends and can trust them.

Dearest Kathleen,

Don't you love Aspen? Yes it was late last October that my son Alexander had his parent/teacher weekend! WOW! What a small world. Well, I wish you luck! Aspenities are extremely friendly at heart! Just go out to the local hotspots! Go to "Explorer" book store, find a book, listen to the classical music, have a cappuccino and wait for the next handsome man that walks in and ...... you take it from there!

With love,
Melanie Griffith
